What are other causes of neuropathy besides diabetes? Why would my other doctors deny my diagnosis?

I'm a 21 year old female. I been having pains, and circulation problem on my legs and arms, I been diagnosed with neuropathy just a few months ago. Other doctors don't believe in the test results. Some of them deny that I have neuropathy even after the test results show that I have it. Since I don't have diabetes, my doctor deny my diagnoses.

Neuropathy is always caused by something else. It is a symptom, not a disease. So if you don't have diabetes, you can't have diabetic neuropathy. Really you are too young for a diagnosis of neuropathy without diabetes... My suggestion is that you get tested for MS. I don't doubt you have the problems, but they are not the disease. Something else is causing it. Other causes besides MS are alcohol or drug abuse, mercury or lead poisoning, thyroid issues and vitamin deficiencies.
Noccie replied on Mon, 30 Jan, 2012
Circulation and neuropathy are not the same thing.
Was the doctor who gave the diagnosis a neurologist and was a nerve conduction test performed? Without either, the diagnosis is suspect. Neuropathy can not be diagnosed based on subjective symptoms alone. Circulation problems will cause pain, so if you truly have circulation issues that may be why the doctor doesn't think you have neuropathy.

The following web page lists these as causes of peripheral neuropathy, my friend:
Diabetes Mellitus
Shingles (post herpetic neuralgia)
Vitamin deficiency, particularly B12 and folate
Alcohol
Autoimmune diseases, including lupus, rheumatoid arthritis or Guillain-Barre syndrome
AIDS, whether from the disease or its treatment, syphilis, and kidney failure
Inherited disorders, such as amyloid polyneuropathy or Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease
Exposure to toxins, such as heavy metals, gold compounds, lead, arsenic, mercury, and organophosphate pesticides
Cancer therapy drugs such as vincristine (Oncovin, Vincasar), and other medications [for example antibiotics such as metronidazole (Flagyl), and isoniazid (Nydrazid, Laniazid)]
You are NOT too young to have neuropathy.
